About Amy
A diagnostician who has sat on every side of the table.
Amy Liesveld, M.A., has spent over two decades in education — as a classroom teacher from elementary through high school, a dyslexia specialist, and a school counselor. She founded Clarity Educational Assessments, based in Prosper, TX, to give families a faster, more personal path to answers than the school system can usually offer — available in person locally, or virtually for families anywhere in Texas — without losing the classroom-level understanding of what a diagnosis actually means day to day.
It's personal, too. Amy is the parent of two children with dyslexia and dysgraphia, so she has sat on the other side of this exact process — waiting for answers, learning to read a report, and figuring out what to do next. She brings that same perspective to every family she works with.
Free screeners
Not sure which one fits? Take a free screener.
Pick the area you're most concerned about. Each screener takes about a minute and isn't a diagnosis — it's a quick way to see whether a full evaluation is worth pursuing.
An evaluation is likely worth a conversation.
Based on your answers, a full evaluation could give you real clarity. The next step is a short intake call — no pressure, just a chance to talk through what you're seeing.

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Because "free" often comes with a long wait. A school evaluation can take months — through the request, the testing queue, the evaluation itself, the eligibility meeting, and then developing and starting a plan. Families often turn to a private evaluation to get answers sooner, especially after a formal denial (a Prior Written Notice), a "did not qualify" decision they want a second opinion on, outdated testing that needs updating, or simply because they'd rather not wait.
A private evaluation with Clarity typically moves much faster than the school process, is built around your specific concerns, and gives you an independent, portable report you control.
Most families move from intake call to feedback session in a matter of weeks, not months — the exact timeline depends on scheduling and which areas are being assessed.
Reports are written to reflect thorough, professional testing that schools and colleges can use to inform decisions. Every school's process is different, so this is a good question to ask during the intake call.
Amy works with students from elementary through high school, as well as college students seeking accommodations. Reach out with your child's age and she can confirm fit.
Yes. Homeschooling families often want an independent, credentialed evaluation to understand how their child learns, without going through a school district at all. Amy works with families regardless of how their child is being educated.
Yes — Clarity offers cognitive and achievement testing to support private and independent school entrance applications. Reach out for details on what a particular school typically requires.
